Last Little League Game

The Reds had some ups and downs this season, and unfortunately ended with a loss to the Braves. Carter had a great game, and had a fun time playing against some of his travelling team friends.

Casper Tournament and Martin's Cove

Carter, Caleb, and I set off on a fun weekend trip to play some baseball in Casper. The boys won their games on Friday and felt pretty good going into the Saturday games. I think it was the first time they played in some really hot temps. It was over 100 degrees and we struggled to keep cool, and keep the boys cool all day.

I had so much fun with the boys, we went to dinner and hung out all evening at our hotel after the games.

Saturday we were a lot smarter and parked under some tents and umbrellas. I was ill prepared for the heat and for the sitting outside all day. I'll do better next time, for sure. Caleb played the iPad and hid out in the shade, then after a few hour, he got in a water fight with some unsuspecting people.

The boys suffered a few losses on Saturday, and even though the tournament continued on into Sunday, we headed home. Although Carter wanted to stay and play more baseball, he was very brave and stuck to his decision not to play sports on Sunday. I could really see him mature in that moment.

We stopped at Martin's Cove on the way home, and it was the perfect way to end the weekend. The boys loved it, and have often mentioned how much they loved our stop that day.

Cherry Hill

We always have such a good time at Cherry Hill. It's the best! After Kangaroo Zoo on Friday we headed to Cherry Hill on Saturday for more fun. I love that my kids are getting old enough to find their way around, and do some of the rides on their own.

Caleb thought it was fun to go on the lazy river while sitting on Christian's head, Carter still won't go on the double dragon and preferred to play mini golf and chill most of the day. Cali took good care of Mia and hauled her all around the park all day.

It was a great day!

Pollastro Family Reunion

This is a squirrelly bunch of cousins, for sure. Carson and Nykelle came to Utah for a visit and we were happy to meet up with them and all the cousins for a little Pollastro reunion. We were only missing Melissa's little twins which were home being brand new and tiny.

The kids had a great time jumping like crazy at Kangaroo Zoo. Everyone was sweaty and red-faced. I think Caleb even barfed a little on one of the slides.

After Kangaroo Zoo we had a bbq, some cousin pictures, and a lot of time to chill out and play electronic devices.

The boys have plenty of boy cousins to play with, and they all want to play with Carter. In these situations I really feel for Cali. She is the oldest and best big sister and never really has anyone to play with. But, she does a great job finding fun things to do with the kids.

He Hates It, But He Does It

On the last Little League game of the season, Carter ended up catching most of the game. He loves to play baseball, but he doesn't love being a catcher. For as much as he doesn't like it, he was good at it! I had to snap these pictures of this little catcher.

2015 Allstar Announcement

Carter made the 2015 Little League All Star Team! Just when the baseball season is normally winding down, we are starting another one.  He was the only person to make it from the Reds, and one of three nine year-olds to make the team. Our third baseball season begins now!

Last Game Pizza Party

Caleb's last Rookies game involved a giant pizza party and playing on the park. He was so happy! He had a fun year, and his attention for the game really grew throughout the season. His coaches were so kind and patient with him, even when he told them that he was made for "hitting not mitting" and refused to play defense while he hid in the dugout.

Cinderalla

Cali tried out for the BOCES play, Cinderella, and she got the main part! On the way to the tryouts she said, "mom, I know I am going to get the part of Cinderella." As a logical and good mom,  I told her not to get her hopes up too high. I felt like I needed to prepare her for potential disappointment. I was wrong, I should have listened to he. She was right!

It was long week of intense practices, but  in the end the play turned out really cute. Grandma Gwennie and Grandpa Neal and Grandma Vicki came to watch the performance.

She got a million compliments on what a great job she did, and she really did. It was fun to watch her transform on stage. She had a great week with fun friends and met a lot of new friends too.

Allstar Tryouts

This year Carter is old enough to try out for the Little League All Star team for the first time. He's one of the youngest and I was not sure what to expect. The coaches rounded up all the kids and put them through a series of drills. Parents could stay and watch, so I did. Grandma Gwennie and Grandpa Neal were also there for the occasion.

Carter did pretty well, he was fast on the running sections, but had some struggles on the hitting sections of the drills. The coaches will tabulate the results of the drills and then select the All Star team.

Home Remodel Project, Coming Soon...

The banister and railing are going to be replaced, very soon. Stay tuned for the upcoming before and after photos. I have a feeling the rest of the summer is going to be full of saw dust and paint...

Something To Do in the Summer, Other Than Baseball

Summer movies! All of the kids love going to the summer movies, and this year is especially fun because Brock and Broden have tickets too. Bethany loves the summer movies a lot more than I do, which is nice of her to take my kids along with her.

The Pregame

Caleb has really loved getting play baseball instead of just watching his brother. He has great coaches and loves being on the Astros. Today he's having a little pregame banana to get his energy up for another exciting Rookies game.

You Don't See That Everyday...

Waiting for Carter's baseball practice to get over, and what do I see, the real Ringling Bros. Circus train rolled right through the middle of Rock Springs.
