Still Home Improving...

Our home projects involved updating Cali's room too. She picked the style and colors and I did my best to make it work for her.

Friends

Carter's good friend Payton Jenkins moved with his family to Star Valley. These two have been the best of little buds, and we were happy to get them together for one more play date.
(I also repainted the front door...part of the home project death spiral)

Home Improvement: Phase Two

The moving of all the furniture to put in the new carpet! It was fun at first, but quickly got a little tricky!

The old carpet got ripped up and taken away.

While the carpet is gone and the furniture is moved, let's repaint the whole house. This decision led to another rabbit hole of projects....

Red Desert Round Up Parade

Who doesn't love a good parade. I personally favor parades in an election year, where the candidates are crazy for votes and pass out as much candy as possible. This year Bethany and I took Caleb and Brock to the Red Desert Rodeo parade. We found a shady spot and waited for the candy to fly. Cali was dancing in the parade with the Rock Academy dance team, so we waited for her to dance by as well.

Their dance team squirted everyone with water, which was a welcome relief from the heat of the day. Speaking of relief, Caleb and Brock both took turns peeing behind an old building, since any regular bathrooms were far away.

They caught more candy than they could carry.

Home Improvement: Phase One

We decided it was time to update a few things in our house. It started out with flooring, new carpet to be exact. But it soon spiraled out of control. I've never really liked the look of this railing. There are so many wonderful things about our house, and I always felt like I could deal with the look of the railing. Until, I picked out the new carpet, then I new it was time for some major changes.

A big thank you to the Chestnut Bros. company for lending their expertise and incredible wood working skills.. This is a project that has taken on a life of it's own, and we'll be living in sawdust for a while...

Power saw!

So much sawdust!

The finished product, before stain. Now, to decide what color to stain it...

Oops He Did it Again

This time he ran into a fence trying to field a ball in the outfield. His team mates apparently didn't think to tell him there was a fence, and he knocked his tooth right out. I have a feeling this is going to be a reoccurring theme throughout the next several years.

Thank goodness for nice dentists that are willing to piece this grill back together over and over again.

Allstar Teambuilding

Lu Sweet at Western Wyoming Community College prepared a great team building activity for our little all star team. The kids loved it, they learned a lot, and they asked if they could stay longer when it was over. That's what I call a successful team building session.

Happy Fourth of July

Most of these pictures were taken in the dark at the Fairgrounds while watching the fireworks, with the exception of  Christian Peacock throwing Caleb into the pool at Bethany's apartment. That happened too.

We hung around with Dorothy, Kyle, and the Peacocks for most of the morning, and then went to the Fairgrounds to watch fireworks at night. However, the highlight of the night was watching White Mountain catch fire due to some dumb idiots lighting fireworks on the mountain. The kids loved watching the spread of wildfire more than the actual fireworks!

It's Not Everyday

It's not everyday you get done with a great run at the track and then spot a hot air balloon floating above the nearby houses. Only in Wyoming can you float a Steamboat hot air balloon around like it's normal.
