Last Football Game

Bethany and Carter at the end of their last game

The Saints played their last game in the semi-finals this year. They suffered a pretty bad loss to a team they had soundly beat earlier in the year. I was sad for the boys, but happy that Carter had such a great season and a great football experience.

At the end of the game all the kids have to strip down and return their equipment. They weren't expecting to lose, but at least Carter had a t-shirt and some shorts to wear home.

I was fortunate enough be the team water mom all season, so I had the best seat in the house. Being on the sidelines with Carter and his teammates all season was really fun.

Young Women's General Conference

Cali and Natalie at the end of the conference

Cali played in a volleyball tournament in Evanston, and as soon as it was over Natalie and I and some of the young women from our ward picked her up and headed to the Conference Center to watch the Young Women's General Conference session.

Natalie had never been to the Conference Center before, so it was fun to be there with her for the first time. The talks were really inspiring and Cali loved being there with friends.

Too Cool for School (While Waiting for Cali)

He couldn't resist hanging out in front of the school like the cool kids while we waited for Cali to emerge after volleyball practice.

Spawning Fish in the Green River

I've heard about spawning fish, but seeing the bright red fish by the thousands swimming up stream was an awesome sight. Caleb and I wandered down to the Green River during Cali's piano lesson to check out the spawning grounds.

Volleyball Season

Cali had a great time playing in her first junior high volleyball season. She made the A-Team every week and played in all of the A-Team games. She improved a lot and really enjoyed learning about the sport.

They won a few matches, and had a few very close ones, and of course they lost a few too.

She's really fun to watch!

Singing at the High School Football Game

One of the perks to singing in the school choir is the opportunity to sing the national anthem at a highs school football game. Carter and a whole bunch of other choir students filed down on the field to sing at the first of the game.

You may be able to spot him. He's right there... kind of on the frontish row, fifth one in from the teacher. After the singing we stayed for the rest of the football game. The kids ended up running off with friends, and wrangling Caleb was a sport in and of it's self.

Baseball Awards Banquet

Baseball season wraps right into football season, which wraps right into the first weeks of school. With all the business, we finally found time to get together for an Allstar baseball banquet. Carter got an award for fastest/best base runner. It was a well deserved award.

The coaches each said a few nice things about each of the boys.

The boys showed off their certificates and gave each other random bro-hugs.

Jr High A-Team Volleyball

Cali is turning into a pretty good volleyball player, which is good, because she certainly isn't getting any shorter. This girl is growing in so many ways, especially up. She made the Jr. High Volleyball A-Team.

They lost their first match, but the girls are learning a lot, and she's having a great time being a part of a team.

Stagecoach Stallions

Caleb and Carter are proud students at a brand new elementary school, Stagecoach Elementary. Right after school started the PTO and school staff hosted a back to school night. Carter was unimpressed, and walked home, yes the school is that close. Caleb, on the other hand, thought it was quite wonderful and especially liked meeting the new Stallion!

We are looking forward to a great school year at a beautiful new school!

More Football

The team mom of our football team made these cute fence decorations. Football season isn't anywhere near as long as baseball season, but I feel like it's twice as serious. For real. These people do not mess around. Hence, fence decorations.

Home Improvement: Phase Five and Six

Phase five would be the dismantling and redesign of the mantle. It turned out beautifully. Courtesy of Chestnut Brothers, again.

Phase Six would be new paint throughout the upstairs, stained mantle, railing, and painted wainscoting. We love how it turned out!

Home Improvement: Phase Four

Phase Four? Who's counting at this point? Really?

We are really happy with the cabinets and countertops in the basement bar area. It just really feels good to have it nearly done. New paint all around too!

Little Grand Canyon Half

I ran my favorite race! Buuuuut, not fast enough, again. 2:03ish. I really hope one day to get this time under 2 hours. I've been working on it for several years. As luck would have it, I ran into my friend Jaylynn at the race. We've been running this race a bunch of years in a row.

These guys were waiting at the end!

Home Improvement: Phase Three

I don't really know where we are at this point... I think this is the part where the Chestnut Brothers encased our entryway in wainscoting. However, at this point, I've lost track of projects and the amount of sawdust in our home.
