Last Day of School Surprise

I'm so tricky! While Christian was working in Atlanta during the last week of school. I surprised the kids by buying a trampoline and setting it up. When they got home from school, their dream of having a trampoline came true. They were so excited, and it was the best last day of school surprise I was so excited for them.

I sent these crazy pictures to Christian while he was in Atlanta to announce the arrival of our new toy. He was less than impressed. His dream of never having a trampoline was shattered and a few moments were touch and go, but by the time he got home, he was a good sport and even helped me put up the net.

Cali's Last Day of 7th Grade

Final Dance Recital of the Seaon

Cali had a great dance season this year. After travelling to Utah for several competitions, her studio held an end of the year recital. It was a great ending to a fun dance season.

Dance Awards and School Fairy Play

Cali had a busy night. Her dance awards happened to be on the same night as her school play. So, she had to attend the awards dressed in her costume for the play. She received a lot of compliments on her outfit, many people didn't realized she was in costume as a fairy. After trying to explain it to a few people, she finally gave up and just accepted the compliments. She received an award for most cheerful dancer. We ate some of the dinner and then had to hurry off to the school play.

I'm not going to lie. I really thought this play was going to be good, and it wasn't. There were so many funny things that happened. Including someone on stage reading the script to cue lines to the other students. Brock and Bethany came, but had to leave at intermission, which is where the play really should have ended.

Cali made a very beautiful fairy, even if the play wasn't very good.

Dance Competition Season

This was Cali's first competitive dance season. There was a huge learning curve for me, but Cali fit right in. I was thankful that she was old enough to change her own clothes and do her own hair and makeup. Once I figured out the routine, I just dropped her off at the correct place at the correct time and found a seat in the auditorium.

They are Growing Up

It turns out that Cali is a great triple jumper and a good sprinter too. At this meet in Green River, she was just inches away from breaking the school record in the triple jump. I love a good track meet and it was so fun to watch her compete in her jumping and running events.

Dance Competiton in Green River with Friends

The Green River Aspire dance competition is a fun gathering of many dance teams. All of the classes and teams from the Rock Academy where Cali dances compete, so it was fun to see some dance I hadn't seen before. It was fun for Cali too, since several of her friends that aren't on competitive teams were there.

Bethany and Brock came with us to watch and when they had to go home, Carter and Christian came to watch after baseball.

Cali did a great job, and I got a few (not great pictures). Some of the competitions prohibit taking of pictures.
