Cali Gets the Strep and Mono

It was the worst of times, Cali was so sick. I knew she had something, but I was surprised when she had both strep throat and mono. Apparently, a huge epidemic of mono has swept the area. So much so, that health care professionals thought the tests were faulty. So, for the next few weeks, it's a lot of rest and trying to get back to being healthy.

And Just Like That, Baseball Season Begins

We kicked off baseball season with a fundraiser for our travelling baseball team. The boys sold tickets to a pancake breakfast at Applebees. Then, the boys served the pancakes. Carter did a great job running around serving pancakes and clearing tables.

He looks so official with his order form and pen. He took his job very seriously.

The pancakes were delicious and the service was great!

We were so sad that our neighbor friends moved away, we were so happy that they stopped by for a short visit.

Shootout in the Springs

Cali and Carter both played in the Shootout in the Springs this year. Cali jumped in with a team of girls from her school and Carter played with his regular travelling Tiger Tribe. It was fun to run from gym to gym all over the city to see them both play. It was a full weekend of basketball.


I tried to get some pictures, but with all the running around, the pictures didn't turn out the best.

First Ride of the Year

So thankful to be out on the road this early in the year!

Dance Photoshoot

Not only do dancers take their dancing very seriously. They also take their photo shoots very seriously as well. There was a professional makeup artist, a hair stylist and then the photo shoot. I can't wait to see how they turn out {and how much they cost}.

Valentine's Boxes

On short notice all we had were some old soda boxes and some tin foil. But, we managed to crank out some pretty fantastic Valentine's boxes.

Cali's 7th grade Basketball

Cali is having a fun basketball season so far.

She mostly plays a forward position.

She's very aggressive and good at rebounding.

Her defense has improved a lot this year.

With long arms, she's great at catching passes on the wing.
