Mountain Men Presentation

Carter presented a poster project about mountain men for his final 4th grade project. He put a lot of time and effort into the research and writing of the paper. He also did a great job including interesting facts on his poster. The kids explained their project to the attendees and then fielded questions about their topic. Carter did a great job.

I'm glad that Carter and Caleb were in the same school so that I could attend his presentation and then walk over to the gym to Caleb's kindergarten graduation.

Caleb's Kindergarten Graduation

The graduating class of 2028 is well on their way! Caleb's kindergarten was a bitter sweet event for me. It's my last kindergarten graduation. Of the three I've attended for my children, this one was the strangest for sure. No songs or program, just a whole pile of kids sitting on the gym floor called up by class to receive their diploma from a member of the school board. I thought it a strange mix of informal and too formal.

Caleb didn't know any different, and he proudly marched up to receive his diploma.

His class also chose a beach theme for their graduation, so there were a lot of random Hawaiian shirts, which added to the strangeness and hilarity of the whole event.

Brock attended the graduation and presented Caleb with a huge candy bouquet.

I can't even believe that my tiny baby is already a Kindergarten graduate.

The day would not have been complete without Bethany and Brock {and Brock's smile}.

All of us!

Full Swing

Baseball season is in full swing at our house. Carter is playing for the Yankees and on a travelling team. Caleb is playing for the Astros again. Christian is coaching the Yankees and the travelling team as well as functioning as the Little League president. So, all we're doing for now, is baseball every single day.

Final Dance Recital of the Seaon

Cali had a great dance season this year. After travelling to Utah for several competitions, her studio held an end of the year recital. It was a great ending to a fun dance season.

Children's Honor Choir Concert and Lagoon Trip

After participating in the Children's Honor Choir this spring, Carter had a chance to perform in Salt Lake in front of judges where they received the highest rating, a #1 and a superior. They really were quite good, and Carter had a great time singing with them.

{Concert at the Junior High the night before}

At the end of the Salt Lake concert, Carter and his classmates earned a trip Lagoon to celebrate their hard work.
Although Carter didn't really love most of the rides, he had fun riding Rattlesnake Rapids, shooting hoops and riding the go carts. I was glad I could be there with him.

Sometimes You Just Have to Swing

One of the perks to being early to baseball practice, some time to swing on the park swings. I'm sure some day they'll be too cool to swing, or too big to fit on swings. But for now, they like to swing.

Pirate Day

The last few weeks of school are always filled with many theme days.
Pirate day is one such day that Caleb really got into.

Dance Awards and School Fairy Play

Cali had a busy night. Her dance awards happened to be on the same night as her school play. So, she had to attend the awards dressed in her costume for the play. She received a lot of compliments on her outfit, many people didn't realized she was in costume as a fairy. After trying to explain it to a few people, she finally gave up and just accepted the compliments. She received an award for most cheerful dancer. We ate some of the dinner and then had to hurry off to the school play.

I'm not going to lie. I really thought this play was going to be good, and it wasn't. There were so many funny things that happened. Including someone on stage reading the script to cue lines to the other students. Brock and Bethany came, but had to leave at intermission, which is where the play really should have ended.

Cali made a very beautiful fairy, even if the play wasn't very good.

Go Astros {Again}

Caleb is thrilled to be on the Astros baseball team again. His coaches are great and he's really enjoying playing with some of the kids from last year. He's improved a lot from last season and has proved to be a heavy hitter and will not hit off the tee.
